Geotextile fabric is mainly used in gardening and landscaping. This film is essential when creating your deck on all planted plots of land, without masonry tiles, such as sand, soil....
Much more than a deck, Geodeck® fabric may be used to create garden paths, pétanque courts, or to protect the tarpaulin of a pond.
It is directly placed on excavated ground (soil or grass) to prevent the unwanted growth of weeds or the spreading of invasive plant tubers such as bamboo.
1 - a permeable barrier
Geotextile fabric acts as a protective barrier with regards to the soil, while letting rain water flow through freely. Its permeability enables water flow, prevents water stagnation pockets and thus contributes to good ventilation under the surface of the deck.
2 - very resistant film
The tight mesh fabric helps our Geodeck® geotextile fabric resist traction and root invasions. A box cutter or a sharp pair of scissors will be necessary to re-size them to your needs.
3 - good distribution of loads
The geotextile fabric better spreads temporary loads on the deck, supported by the adjustable pedestals. Therefore, it improves the overall stability of the deck.
20 cm covering tape
Insert a 20cm strip of cover tape between 2 sheets of geotextile fabric (i.e. about 10% per roll).
And depending on specific cases (significant root network), it is possible to double layers in order to reinforce resistance.
Mulching staples may be used to maintain the film on the ground.
